FLATUS Show 44 - Anarchism
In this episode: The first two segments are listener related. First, I read an email I received from Podcaster Randy. The email is in response to Flatus 43. Next is the Big C segment. We've been working on a project and you'll hear the results in this show. The bulk of the show is about forms of government. I use Anarchism as a starting point. At the end of the segment, I urge my listeners to watch what they eat, and you may not like what is at the end of your fork. Finally, I talk about academic language I found in Ragan Fox's dissertation and conceptual art. I finish off with a terrific recipe for a no bake Chocolate refrigerator cake made with Matzoh. Yum! In this episode: I continue with more information about Gnosticism and read a part of the New Testament that I believe validates the Judas Gospel. I also forgot to mention this, but read the Herman Hesse novel Demian. This will give you a good understanding of 20th century Gnosticism. The next segment is darker. Because of Madge Weinsteins' show YR366, I tell a secret I've had for a very long time. I never realized how heavy a secret can be until now. Thanks Madge. The final segment is about talking back. Just as planes were hijacked on 9/11, so now our country is being highjacked by fundamentalists. As one patriot said, "Let's Roll!", the time is now to face this evil and take back America. I am tired of being tolerant and pussyfooting. This and more.

In this episode: This episode is about modernity, faith and translation. First I give a Brenda Starr update. You know she is a modern gal that we should all try to emulate. Brenda is ethical, smart, resourceful and fun. I continue by reading a passage from Rousseau's Confessions, in two translations. You will hear how different they are and this leads me to the Gospel of Judas. After 1600 years, this poignant work is revealed. God only knows how any of it survived, but I am glad it did. Gooooooo!! Judas!!. You know there is more than one way to skin a cat and this also applies to thinking. I don't mention it in the show but try Hesse's Demian as a Gnostic primer. I finish with a flourish by presenting zombie resurrections. This and more.
